Part Three: Some Books for the Holidays

This is part three in a series. These books have all had a positive influence on my own training, health, or mental well-being, and I highly recommend them. The books are in no order. For full disclosure’s sake, know that if you click on the linked image to purchase the book, it will give me a small kick back. I am going to do two books every Monday between now and Christmas, so stay tuned. Tools of Titans By Tim Ferriss Tim Ferriss is an author I like a lot, and I enjoy his

New Ortlieb Bag and Some Pics

Don't let the cold keep you inside. I had a great enjoyable ride Saturday, as I headed out to shoot some pics. I find that in the winter months, as we saw last winter in the Campus Great Winter Get Out, having a reason to get out makes you more likely to brave the elements. I got some new glass and a new camera, so I decided to get out and shoot a little. Carrying the 77D on my back really wasn't what I pictured myself doing each and every time I get out to shoot pics, especi

Part One: Some Books for the Holidays

I look outside, and I see snow slowly falling from the November sky. I am 100% sure that if there is anything worth fighting for it is the fight against starting the Christmas season before Thanksgiving is over. As I stare out at the snow globe that the city is becoming, I figured I would give in and start a short series of book recommendations for athletes on your “nice” list. The list is also for those of us who are anticipating the arrival of a few Amazon gift cards headin

Part One: Power Cleaning the Bikes after Cross

I remember owning a power washer that I bought at Harbor Freight, home of cheap tools, a long time ago. I brought it to my parents house to help clean the siding and immediately blew a chunk right out of the side of the house. Oops! When you go to a pro cyclocross race, you see power washers all over the place. Mechanics and semi-pro riders without a crew always have access to them to clean their precious bikes that are covered in cyclocross grime and heavy mud. Road cycling

Video: Cat 4 Race (Full Video)

Here is a video of my Cat 4 race unedited. I gives a pretty good look at the whole course and all the obstacles you face on a muddy day like this was. I apologize in advance for the cussing and swearing and such. Shot on the GoPro Hero 7 Black. #MovieMonday #cyclocross #CampusCyclingCollective #CrossinthePark

Video: Cross in the Park 2019

The 10th anniversary of CITP was a huge success, with the second largest registration and a great course. The mud was heavy as usual, so I was happy to survive two races, the Cat 4 and the Master's 50+ without losing any parts off the bike. The two in a day was hard, but like I told someone, "When you have nothing to win, you have nothing to lose." Nearly everyone in the local bike community came out to enjoy the brisk day of racing. Here are some highlights. Shot on the Cano
