Dr. Stephen Seiler is Right and You Should Listen to Him

I have said it many times on this blog and in person on rides with friends when talking about training, "make your easy rides easier and your hard rides harder." I have followed Dr. Seiler's expert advice for a few seasons now and his three zone model. Try to see if the concepts he espouses in this TED Talk make sense to you, too. The best athletes work with great focus, and that is not by wasting time. Give this a listen and then go research some more on his work. I think yo

    Sample Footage Insta360 One X

This footage was done simply on a whim. I wanted to do something fun with a camera on the way to work. It took absolutely no thought whatsoever, and with the most minor of editing, you have a nice little piece. If this doesn't convince you of the Insta360 One X's awesomeness, nothing will. If you are looking for a camera for vlogging or action, this is a great choice. The footage is clear, and the point of view gives you tons of options. You can shoot and edit the footage ten

Part Six: One Final Book for the Holidays

This is the last installment in a six-part series. These books have all had a positive influence on my own training, health, or mental well-being, and I highly recommend them. The books are in no order. For full disclosure’s sake, know that if you click on the linked image to purchase the book, it will give me a small kick back. The Rider by Tim Krabbé “Hot and overcast. Part One: FIVE, Five, five

On a recent Tim Ferriss Show, he interviewed Dr. Peter Attia and did it in the format of having Attia talk about 5 things he is excited about, 5 things he has stopped doing, and 5 things he continues to do. I thought that this would be a brilliant way to discuss the end of one year and the start of an exciting one ahead. Here’s part one... 5 Things I’m Excited About Racing in 2020- I am truly stoked to be readying myself to race in 2020. I had a discussion with my wife this s
Thoughts on the Book Review Series

Thoughts on the Book Review Series

It occurred to me last night, as I was out walking the dogs that my book recommendation series may leave many people to be disappointed. I know that often when I am ready to buy a new book that I go look at the reviews and sometimes I get so much information from the reviewers that I don't go and buy the book. Why bother? I appreciate the folks who come to this blog for information, but please know that my intention for the series was never to give you all the information fro

Part Four: Some Books for the Holidays

This is part four in a series. These books have all had a positive influence on my own training, health, or mental well-being, and I highly recommend them. The books are in no order. For full disclosure’s sake, know that if you click on the linked image to purchase the book, it will give me a small kick back. I am going to do books every Monday between now and Christmas, so stay tuned. I am sorry I only did one book this week, but it was super busy! The Brave Athlete: Calm th
